The first issue in the new “Coat of Arms of Australia” series features a design inspired by the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. The design features a kangaroo carrying a little one in its pouch and the Commonwealth star. Behind the kangaroo is flowering vegetation, including the floral emblem of each state. The denomination “ONE DOLLAR” is also included in the design. The reverse features an emu protecting its clutch of eggs. Unlike the obverse, the acacia tree on the reverse has not yet flowered. This suggests a future full of potential. The coin was minted by the Royal Australian Mint from an ounce of 99.9% silver, with a mintage of just 50,000 pieces worldwide. The bullion premium coin comes in a protective capsule.
