A reinterpretation of the original Gold Louis, this exceptional coin is based on the gold denomination created under Louis XIII to compete with the Spanish gold coins already in circulation. Engraved by Jean Warin, the profile of King Louis XIII comes from a 10 Louis coin currently held in the collections of the Monnaie de Paris. To the left of the portrait are the monograms of Louis XIII and the heraldic symbols of royalty. The letter A refers to the mint where the original coin was produced (A= Paris). The reverse of the coins in this collection feature the character of Mickey Mouse, along with a frieze of engraved characters from the Walt Disney animation studio’s universe. This reverse also presents the face value of the coin and the acronym "RF" (French Republic).
